Hodges Christmas, Chapter one Christmas Eve craziness.Christmas Eve around our house is always a crazy day,

Christmas Eve around our house is always a crazy day, this year we started out our morning like normal Josh and I sit up checked our e-mail, ate our breakfast. Then we got the kids breakfast going and after it was done proceeded to go upstairs and see if Elijah had found his surprise that “Santa’s Elf’s” left under his little Christmas tree in his room, Of course Santa did, Elijah frantically tour into his present to find a new Mario video game. Which he wanted to play immediately, but we had him wait. Santa’s elf’s still hadn’t wrapped anything for his brothers yet so we told him to hang out in his room for a bit and gave him the new Shrek movie to watch in his room. Santa’s elf’s wrapped the twin’s pillow pets and then we proceeded to take them upstairs for them to open. We took them upstairs and had to help the twins tear into them. Mathias seemed excited by his and toted it around with him for a few minutes. Adriel on the other hand seemed to care less about his new found pillow pet. This broke Josh and I’s heart a bit. Every parent looks forward to the joy in their kids eyes as a present is presented, so this was a bit amiss for us. We gathered them up anyways, pillow pets in hand and brought them downstairs for breakfast. Later we brought Ellie downstairs and helped her to open her gift, it was a pink telephone that opens and closes a flip phone. Each time you open and close it the picture on the screen inside changes. Ellie played with it for a few but didn’t seem overly excited. But that’s alright she’s still a baby so. Sad thing is Adriel seemed more excited and interested in his sister’s toy phone then Ellie. Guess we know who will be playing with the toy phone for a bit. Just hope Ellie and him don’t grow into it around the same time. After all the presents were open then came time for Mommy to do a lot of baking. I spent most of the day baking yummy cookies and desserts for our Christmas meal. Then later that night we put the kids to bed reminding Elijah to leave cookies and milk for Santa after the kids were in bed Santa’s elf’s proceeded to wrap presents and carefully place them under the tree and the elf’s made a gingerbread house for Elijah. Santa even wrote Elijah a little note. Then about 1 or 2 in the morning Santa’s elf’s finally got to go to sleep. Just to start our crazy Christmas day in a few hours.
